PANEL Global perspectives on scaling lithium production responsibly to enable the energy transition
Description:
Supply, technology, and timelines – Realistic capacity expansion timelines, key bottlenecks across jurisdictions (permitting, capital, workforce), and how emerging technologies like DLE are transforming production viability from pilot to commercial scale.
Responsible development and ESG alignment – How ESG expectations, community engagement, and environmental standards vary across regions (Latin America, Europe, North America), and establishing credible, consistent benchmarks for responsible development.
Financing, policy, and geopolitical resilience – How governments shape investment through permitting, royalties, and strategic mineral designations; how regional supply chain policies (IRA, CRMA) are reshaping project development; and balancing rapid scale-up with rigorous environmental and social standards.

Keynote presentation: The new lithium landscape: Changes since the last market boom, CRU
Description:
Lithium has staged a dramatic comeback, with prices doubling in six months as tightening market fundamentals collide with a new era of futures-driven price discovery. But this is more than a price story: booming BESS demand, next-generation LFP and the rise of intermediates are rapidly redrawing the lithium value chain. Add in underestimated African supply and emerging extraction routes, and the industry is entering a new phase of volatility, opportunity and strategic change.

Site Visit: Summit Nanotech
Description:
Visitors to the Santiago piloting facility will be able to view the Alpaca 20-column DLE pilot plant, producing lithium chloride continuously from test brines. This unit is full-commercial-height and has the same flowsheet complexity as a 5,000 t/a commercial plant. Being a pilot plant, it is supported by two fully equipped analytical laboratories and is designed to provide the parameters needed for a fully commercial plant design. Summit is using this facility to demonstrate to clients, engineers and communities what DLE is all about.
