Words of welcome

09:20

Guest of honour keynote: Lithium in Argentina, Secretary Lucero, Government of Argentina

09:40

Opening keynote: Lithium: A Critical Mineral for the Energy Transition, Novandino Lithium

Description:

• How the lithium industry and market context have structurally evolved
• Where the market stands today and where it is heading
• How Novandino is responding to and positioning itself within this new landscape

10:00

Keynote presentation: ‘DLE’ Behind the Buzzword: Sharing experience of 1st full Western DLE at scale, Eramet

Description:

- Delivering a DLE industrial plant is not just about DLE
- The first plant delivery requires to assemble a massive set of skills
- Eramet is working on the next topics to consolidate leadership in DLE-Lithium brine

10:20

PANEL Global perspectives on scaling lithium production responsibly to enable the energy transition

Description:

Supply, technology, and timelines – Realistic capacity expansion timelines, key bottlenecks across jurisdictions (permitting, capital, workforce), and how emerging technologies like DLE are transforming production viability from pilot to commercial scale.

Responsible development and ESG alignment – How ESG expectations, community engagement, and environmental standards vary across regions (Latin America, Europe, North America), and establishing credible, consistent benchmarks for responsible development.

Financing, policy, and geopolitical resilience – How governments shape investment through permitting, royalties, and strategic mineral designations; how regional supply chain policies (IRA, CRMA) are reshaping project development; and balancing rapid scale-up with rigorous environmental and social standards.

Keynote presentation: The new lithium landscape: Changes since the last market boom, CRU

Description:

Lithium has staged a dramatic comeback, with prices doubling in six months as tightening market fundamentals collide with a new era of futures-driven price discovery. But this is more than a price story: booming BESS demand, next-generation LFP and the rise of intermediates are rapidly redrawing the lithium value chain. Add in underestimated African supply and emerging extraction routes, and the industry is entering a new phase of volatility, opportunity and strategic change.

11:40

Keynote presentation: Synergies through global collaboration, International Lithium Association

12:00

PANEL Opening new frontiers: Innovations that are transforming how and where lithium is produced

Description:

From pilot to production – Lessons learned scaling lithium extraction from lab trials to commercial operations, including emerging technologies that expand viable resource bases beyond traditional sources.

Operational and sustainability insights – Practical takeaways from real-world deployment in challenging environments, with credible approaches to quantifying improvements in water use, energy efficiency, and environmental footprint.

Collaboration and future outlook – How partnerships between resource owners, technology providers, and investors are accelerating innovation and deployment, and the potential to reshape global lithium supply diversity and regional development.

12:40

Closing keynote: From Experience to Innovation: Albemarle’s Journey to Direct Lithium Extraction, Albemarle

Description:

• From experience to innovation – With over 45 years in Chile, Albemarle has continuously improved lithium production through technology, efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Proven impact through R&D+i – Process innovations have increased productivity and efficiency while reducing water intensity and solid waste across operations.
• Scaling DLE responsibly – The TED Project enables modular, adaptive growth, improving lithium recovery while reducing net brine extraction

Site Visit: Summit Nanotech

Description:

Visitors to the Santiago piloting facility will be able to view the Alpaca 20-column DLE pilot plant, producing lithium chloride continuously from test brines. This unit is full-commercial-height and has the same flowsheet complexity as a 5,000 t/a commercial plant. Being a pilot plant, it is supported by two fully equipped analytical laboratories and is designed to provide the parameters needed for a fully commercial plant design. Summit is using this facility to demonstrate to clients, engineers and communities what DLE is all about.
